Boyett’s Grove Barbecue Benefit June 16, 2007

Come to the Spring Lake United Methodist Church on Spring Lake Hwy. in Brooksville, Florida this Saturday (June 16, 2007). From 10 am till 6 pm. Adults $8.00 and children $5.00.

This is to benefit Boyett’s Grove.  On April 25, 2007 Jimmy Oleson was shot by one of three robbers.  He is still in the Hospital fighting life threatening infection from the gunshot.  This BBQ is to help the family and Boyett’s Grove, a landmark tourist attraction that has been in Brooksville since the 1960’s. 

I myself have been going there, taking my own 4 children when they were young.  I also have taken my 3 grandchildren as well as many children I have baby-sat over the past 20 years.  I was just there with two of these children just days before this tragedy.

Family and true friends are the blessings of life

“Stop and smell the Roses” is a fraize we have heard all our life.  As we get older we find it to be more and more true.

This past weekend we took that time, the feeling is so up lifting we can’t stop smiling.  I urge all of you to do it too. Take time for yourself and enjoy some time with your family and friends.

Storm ~ Bad weather ~ Rain

Let’s hope this storm that is coming our way is not as bad as they made it sound.  If we just have rain and a little wind I will be up at the store today. Lots of good sales too.  I will see you there.
